Scientist II, In vivo-in vitro Genomic Editing

The Translational Cellular Sciences Stem Cell & Genomic Engineering group seeks an accomplished Scientist II to lead in vivo and in vitro genomic editing efforts. The primary responsibility for this position will be to lead a team and contribute to generating genetically modified mouse/rat models and genetically modified iPSCs in support of Biogen’s neuroscience platform.

The preferred candidate will have strong molecular biology skills and an ability to rapidly integrate novel technologies. Additionally, the successful candidate will be highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to successfully take on challenges and quickly adapt to new responsibilities. He/she will accomplish our mission through open communication, innovation, teamwork, creative problem solving, and use of state-of-the-art technologies. As a Scientist II, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to strategic directions, prioritization and scientific ideas and will have significant impact on drug discovery/development projects and departmental goals.


The successful candidate will possess:
•A deep knowledge of molecular biology and significant experience with genome editing technologies for the development of both in vivo and in vitro models.
•Experience with multiple cell culture systems specifically including mouse ESC and human iPSC.
•A knowledge of concepts of neurological diseases and mechanisms.
•A keen understanding of experimental design, underlying scientific principles, and the ability to rigorously analyze and interpret results. 
•Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to clearly communicate and to influence decision making through presentations.
•An ability to work in a matrixed environment.


This position requires a Ph.D. with 2-5 years of experience. Will also consider equivalent experience.
