BPDA & BIDMC PDA: Multimodal High-Resolution Imaging for Nanoscale Investigation of Clinical Specimens and Molecular Biology
Molecular imaging with AFM and ExM has enabled discoveries in cellular structures and nanoscale imaging of pathological specimens.
Participants will learn how such technologies have enabled discoveries in cellular structures and will become familiar with the newest advances in physical tissue expansion methods with immediate applications in biomedicine, neuroscience, oncology, etc.

BPDA CareerSpeak Series #1: Postdoc to Faculty
Our first hybrid seminar in the BPDA CareerSpeak Series will be entitled "Postdoc to Faculty." It will take place August 23rd, 2022 from 5-6pm at Boston University. This seminar series will host a panel of successfully hired young PIs. They will share their experience with writing research grants and finding an institution that complemented their own research portfolio.
The first guest of this series is Dr. Yvon Woappi, who will share his personal and biomedical journey from being a graduate student, to winning a K99/R00, to landing a faculty position at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

In his talk, you will learn about the three success factors for innovation and what you should be looking for as a future innovator or entrepreneur. You will get first-hand advice on bridging the gap between academic biomedical research and successfully developing new therapies for the benefit of patients, as well as guidance on transitioning from academic research to building a pharma industry career or a startup company.
